Hot Dogs

If I've learned anything on my mission, it's that I don't know how to cook, or at least I'm too lazy to try! I've had hot dogs for lunch and sometimes dinner every day for the last week because I had no clue what to buy. But this P-Day, I'll have to buy some real food for a change. Other than the hot dogs, it was a great week! We saw lots of miracles. Every single person we're teaching made progress this week. We had great lessons with them, and they're keeping commitments!

The first miracle was with our friend Eboni. We had a lesson with her, and she's been reading the Book of Mormon. We also started teaching her niece, which is awesome! But then she blocked our number the next day... we knocked on her door regaurdless and talked about the Plan of Salvation. Her uncle just died that morning and so things were hard for her. She loved our message and scheduled for us to come over again in two days.  She's sending some crazy mixed signals for real!

The next miracle was with our friend Joaquin. We had a lesson with him, and they agreed to let us come and teach twice a week. They also said they'll come to church this Sunday, which is hype because their schedules have been busy! They even tried to get me to shoot a gun, but mission rules wouldn't let me, so that was a bummer. I said, "if I shoot the gun, will you come to church this sunday?" they said that they were coming anyways so I did not have to haha. I wish I could have though. No missionary is california gets to shoots guns haha.

The next miracle is our friend Maric. We've been calling and texting her for over a month with no success, but she finally let us come over for a lesson, and it went great! We answered her questions, and she's gained a powerful testimony of God and prayer since we started talking to her.

Other highlights of the week include going golfing with some members in our ward (although I had to use women's clubs, which were way too short for me!). It also snowed again this week, and we got 4-5 inches at our cabin. We found an amazing Mexican restaurant that's affordable too! And finally, General Conference was incredible. The speakers were so powerful and answered so many of my questions. I recommend checking out the talks by Elder Holland, Elder Dushku (Count Dushku, if your a Star Wars fan you'll get it lol), Elder Gerard, Elder Uchtdorf, Elder Kearon, and Elder Taylor.

From this conference, I came to know that the words spoken are truly the words God would have us hear if He were speaking to us Himself. God really does speak to us through prophets and truly does love us. He didn't send us here to suffer; He gave us tools to return to Him because He wants all of us home.  My favorite quotes was given by Elder Taylor. He was talking about what we will say when we get to heaven looking back at our Earth experiences. "Is that all that you required?" I love this because our life here on earth is so short and easy. All we have to do, is do the small and simple things that God has asked us to do, then he will help us to do them, then he will bless us for eternity. D&C 121: 7-8 states enduring to the end perfectly. We truly do have a loving Heavenly Father who only wants the best for us. I know that as you all build your foundation on the rock of our Redeemer Jesus Christ, no trial or challenge will be able to knock you down.

Thanks for reading, and I love you all! Have a great week!
