My First Couch
Boy do I have some news for y'all!
I got my first lazy boy couch this week, and a light saber, and a massager for free at a members yard sale! Also, we gave away 7 Book of Mormons and have some serious potentials this week.
I will start with the miracels we saw this week. We had the whole ward pray this week that we will be able to get missionary work going, but specifically to give 6 Book of Mormons away this week. We ended up giving 7 away and they went to awesome people. All of them were super great people who are excited to read from it.
The first was Hammad from Afghanistan. He had to escape his country to america by working with US special forces as a translator. He lives here now and has an interest in religion and does not like his he has grown up in. We had a great talk and he has committed to reading from the Bookf of Mormon.
The next hype guy is Jay. He has a sweet corvette outside his house so I went to take pics with it when he walked out side. I said, I like your corvette, he said, what are you selling, and we said Jesus. Appearently he is really big into religion right now and finding out who God is. We gave him a Book of Mormon and told us to prepare because he is going to write down some questions for us. He's gonna try and stump us he says haha. Super cool dude.
The next hype person I'll talk about is Tika. She is from Fiji. We had a great talk with her. We bore testimony to her and challenged them to read from the Book of Mormon and she wants to read! Less Go!
Spiritual time:
My favorite verses come from first Nephi this week. Me and my comp had an opportunity to talk to someone who is going through divorce and has a child. My companion read these to her.
14 But, behold, (insert your name) hath said: The Lord hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me—but he will show that he hath not.
15 For can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee, O house of Israel.
16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.
I can promise you all that any pain or trial you are going through, Jesus Christ has suffered and is suffering with you. Your name is engraved on his palms and he know how to best help you in hard times if you turn to him.
This week has been pretty good, full of lots of miracles, sun burns, and free stuff at garage sales less go. Thank you all for all you do and the responses! As always, the church is still true! Have a great week y'all!
