Tires Flying Off Bikes

What's up, everyone!

This has been a crazy week full of lots of random stuff, haha. From my companion's tires flying off while biking to three-hour lunches with non-members who hate our church, and insane heat warnings forcing us to stay inside McDonald's for two hours at a time! I'll start with the miracles we saw this week. Our friend thought she was sneaky and could skip a lesson on us. So, we did what any missionary would do - we called her three times throughout the day and texted her twice, all at different times. She wouldn't answer, so we showed up at her house right before it was time to go home. A guy from AAA was replacing her car battery. Apparently, her car had died, and she'd been busy with work. We decided to reschedule the lesson but shared a quick 20-minute lesson anyway, and she loved it! We have more lessons with her this week too.

The next miracle is with our new friend Rozita. We just started teaching her - actually, we quad-taught her. My companion and I, along with two other elders who are supposed to be teaching her (since she's technically in their area), taught her the Plan of Salvation. We got to answer so many questions about where we were before we came to earth, what the purpose of life is, and where we go after we die. She loved it and said the lesson brought her so much peace. We testified and said that was the spirit confirming to her that it's true! Awesome lesson, and having four elders teaching is so much fun.

As for the crazy stuff, my companion's tire flew off this week. We were contacting someone, and they noticed his back wheel was wobbly. The guy said, 'Good thing the front wheel isn't wobbly - my front wheel flew off once, and I crashed and broke my jaw and got really injured.' Literally four minutes later, my companion's front tire flew off while coming to a stop at a light - not the back one! Insanity. He didn't get hurt or even crash; it was so crazy, lol.

We also had a lunch appointment with a non-member this week. Apparently, he makes great pizza, so we pulled up to his house a month ago, and I asked if he could feed us pizza. He got back to us, and he invited us over for lunch. When we got there, we expected it to be ready. Nope! After an hour and a half of work, we finally finished prepping the pizza and could throw it in the oven. He said it would take 15 minutes to cook; about 45 minutes later, it was done...bruh. We spent a total of three hours for this lunch appointment. Crazy, haha! Also, anytime we tried to talk religion, he said, "Nope, the door's over there if you want to keep talking about 'the book'." Wild lunch, haha! He was super nice, though, and really liked us. We made lunch fun.

Finally, it's gotten really hot here. It's supposed to get up to 113°F this week. It got up to 103°F today, and we've been told to stay inside more often and out of the heat. We ended up chilling in McDonald's for two hours doing phone work and studies today because it was so humid and hot! We were dying. Best McDonald's experience of my life. We bought a $1 ice cream cone and got to stay for two hours. HYPE!

Anyway, this has been a great week. My son is still a dawg of an elder. He's learning so fast and makes me so proud all the time. As always, the church is still true. I've really enjoyed being able to read the scriptures each day. I've seen the Lord's hand in the work each day. He's helped me so much to teach and recall scripture when teaching and testify with power. God is good. If you ever wonder what God can do for you, just spend a little time turning to Him, ask Him, and He will DELIVER! That's a promise. I love you all. Thanks for the responses; they keep me busy and connected to the world in my free time. Have a great day week!
