Thanksgiving Dinner
Wuz Poppin y'all,
This has been a good week in the field. From my boy Trump taking that victory Royale defeating Commie Harris, to eating a whole fish, head and all for a post baptism celebration for David, to an early Thanksgiving dinner making me throw up, to the Chiefs being 9-0, and finally, Nick being put and date and will be baptized this Saturday, a lot has happened.
Staring with the Spiritual stuff, Nick has been put on date for Baptism. He is so awesome and Elect. He accepted a date for his baptism and a lot of people have been helping him along the way. A retired football player for the Raiders is coming to his baptism, so that's lit. He knows it's all true and he has an amazing story to tell on his coming to Christ.
Next, Trump won the Election. God hears and answers prayers, no doubt in my mind. When I woke up that morning and saw the results, I have never so happy. Shout out to my Canadian friend who was also routing for him, Elder Zemp and his family, America is back!
Next, David who was Baptized last Sunday, invited us over for dinner for a celebration. He told us he was making fish. What he meant was, he went and bought fish, killed it the same day, and threw it in batter and fried it, it's was so….. Good? It was alright but definitely the scariest things I have eaten in my life haha. Good memories though.
Some members in our Ward made us an early Thanksgiving dinner because we won't be able to have it with them. For lunch that day, me and my comp ate a whole frozen pizza each and fries and left over birthday desert. Then, one hour later we had this massive thanksgiving dinner. It was so good, the best thanksgiving ever not even lying. I was so sick though, way to much food in one day. I threw up when I got home because I was so full.
Coolest miracle of the week. This goes to our new friend Shukria. She is so awesome. One problem, she doesn't speak English. She speaks Persian. Thankfully, her 8 year old daughter helped to translate when we showed up for a lesson, it wasn't super effective. However, randomly, we had a farsi Book of Mormon and she is able to read that! This is our last and only one. It was meant for her. We texted her the next day to see how she likes it. She said that it was so powerful and inspirational and it teaches so many lessons. She stayed up until 3 am reading it. SHE COULD NOT GET ENOUGH! It is simply the word of God, that is why. We are having another friend we are teaching come to lessons with us, he knows 5 languages. So while we teach him, we will also be teaching her through him. This is going to be awesome!
I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. It is so powerful and so true. There is an amazing quote from our Prophet that I'd like to share.
“The truths of the Book of Mormon have the power to heal, comfort, restore, succor, strengthen, console, and cheer our souls.
“My dear brothers and sisters, I promise that as you prayerfully study the Book of Mormon every day, you will make better decisions —every day. I promise that as you ponder what you study, the windows of heaven will open, and you will receive answers to your own questions and direction for your own life. I promise that as you daily immerse yourself in the Book of Mormon, you can be immunized against the evils of the day, even the gripping plague of pornography and other mind-numbing addictions.”
I know all of this to be true. If you have any problem in life, the Book of Mormon is the answer. It does not replace the Bible, it just testifies along with it. No other Book will help you to get nearer to God than this book, that is also a promise from a prophet of God. If any of you reading this want a copy, hit me up and I will send you one, free of charge! Just let me know!
I love you all and thanks for all you do and for the responses each week, they make my day. Y'all are the best.
Much love,
