First To Read This Email Wins A Tesla!
Oogah Boogah welcome to the weekly email y'all. If your reading this, let me know and I will give you a Tesla when I get home, only if you're the first person to reach out! IT COULD BE YOU!!
This was, how you would say, a fantastic week! From getting a elect friend secured for baptism, to getting another elect friend whos gonna do the same thing, to going bowling, to becoming a church celebrity, to popping a rib out of place, to gaining 7 lbs in one day, to getting to go on a AP exchange with the most handsome canadian I know Elder Letourneau, to seeing super cool spiritual promptings come true on a P-Day, things are buster brown as the kids would say.
First, the work:
The work is going super well, Alex is on date and will be in the font this thursday! Please keep him in your prayers, he needs them, the adversary has been working him and his family trying to keep them from making this big step! We also found a new friend named Garrison. Cool enough, he is actually normal! Most YSA males we teach here have something weird or wrong with them, this guy is genuinely a dawg and super elect. Stay posted for his baptismal date, yuhh! He came to church his first sunday and some activities already, he is hype.
Second, I'm a celebrity:
We have a genius missionary in russian work here in the Cal Sac mision and he is head of social media in Sacramento and does ads for the church with really expensive gear the church gave him to do it, he is legit! He threw me and my comp in a add this week where we talked about getting spiritually nourished. It's a video of my comp talking about being spiritually nourished while I'm in the background chugging water and spilling it all over me. It's pretty funny haha! I'll sign a few autographs if you'd like when I get home, no problem.
Third, I'm physically broke:
Last P-day I had to cancel a bowling trip with the elders because my OLD HEAD popped a rib out of place. After an expensive visit with some crappy chiropractor I found, it was not fixed. So, my old comp, Elder T'eo, gave me a back rub and popped it back into place. He's a real one for real! I also had a member from a past area come and take me and my comp out to Leatherbee's for dinner the other night. It was gas! He fed us so much food I legit gained 7 lbs in one meal, I felt like crap haha. Good times. His name is Brother Taylor and he is sad because his wife and daughters went to Hawaii without him because he just got knee surgery and he would slow them down. We got to serve him, and in return we got some grub, W's. Oh I also got to go bowling this P-day and it was a jolly old time, I have missed BBB nights from back home. (Boys Be Bowling).
Fourth, spiritual highlight:
This week was good, but literally like 30 minutes ago we had the coolest experience of the week. While driving up to the temple where our church building is, I saw this dude on a bench outside the temple. Usually only members are up here because the temple is kind of hidden and unknown supringly. I got the impression that I should go talk with him. I was so confused because he was almost guaranteed to be a member. I tried to pass it off but the thought would leave me. Last second before I parked the car I whipped the car around to go talk with him. Turns out he is not a member. We told him that we dont normally talk with people on our P-days and had a good conversation. We asked him why he thinks God sent us to him, he said, "probably because I am going through a really hard time right now". He would not give us his number but we were able to give him our number and leave him with our testimony and a really good impression. Didn't really go anywhere crazy, but it was a really cool experience and the seed has been planted, he won't forget that.
I had another really cool experience this week that I almost forgot to mention. This week we had a really great dinner with the Goodfellow family. THEY ARE DAWGS. We are teaching their daughter's boyfriend. He is so close to baptism, but he just won't commit and we are unsure why. He has been taught for a year now. We had a really deep conversation with him and were able to get deep into why he has not committed yet. The spirit in the lesson was so strong and powerful and was guiding me and my companion as to what we should share and say to him to help him. For the first time in my mission, while teaching and testifying, I was brought to tears mid lesson. The spirit was so strong and he was so grateful for the lesson and the things me and my companion shared with him. We were not able to pick a day with him, but it was definitely a very impactful lesson. I know that God does speak to us and will not leave us comfortless. I know that without the guidance of the spirit, I could not be half of the missionary that I am, I owe it all to God. He is real, this is His church, and we are all truly all his children, sons and daughters of a God! He loves us! In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
I love you all, thanks for reading! Have a great week, know that God is aware of you and is answering your prayers! Love you all!
Peace,
