Don't Drink The Lemonade

Malo e Leili!

Welcome to the weely email everybody, please forgive me for not sending an email in a while. I am the worst and will try to do better. THINGS HAVE BEEN BUSY! I am in my new area, the liahona ward, and I am loving it. The Tongan people are the most amazing people ever, they are so kind and generous and seriously take care of us. They are all dawgs, woof woof.

Today was a good day, we woke up at 5 o'clock to go golfing with our mission president. This was officially the most stressful day of the mission haha. Wow, I had a terrible game of golf but we had fun. Lost like 10 balls, only hit it onto the fairway like 5 times, usually it was the wrong fairway, and I have my name written on every sand pit because I was in all of them. I went with two other elders and we all lost to him, he's pretty good at golf haha. If he played fortnite he'd be getting #1 victory royales constantly with his skill level for real.

Tongans know how to party. We went to a party the other night, probably my 10th one this transfer alone. I got offered alcohol multiple times so that was cool. They also had an unlimited taco bar, you already know I was at that thing all night. Wow what a great time. It's been a blast being in this ward, it is no joke that we eat a lot here. We are spoiled, they just feed us until we die, that's the mentality.

I just got reminded of a story I forgot to tell y'all that happened on an exchange a few weeks ago. I was with an elder, Elder Jaster, he is dawg. We were visiting a random dude, not a member and we sat down for some lemonade. So he went to the kitchen and got some lemonade made, for some reason, it took him like 10 minutes to make this stuff. I was lowkey stressing because he just offered us some beer right before this and we never got the chance to say no because the conversation changed or something. He brings the lemonade to us in a big used lemonade container you buy in the fridge section of the store, pours us a glass, and I just stared at my companion to see what he would do. He had know Idea about any of this by the way. I watched him drink it and he liked it and it seemed safe so I drank it too. He then told his kids as they reached for some lemonade and said, "That's not for you", in a laughy way. I was so concerned. When we got home hours later I brought it up to my companion and he immediately told me that the lemonade tastes funny before I said anything. He definitely spiked our lemonade... Me and my comp died laughing then quickly repented. #repentance is underrated. Anyways, I've had alcohol! yuh! I will never do that again, thankfully God knows it was not on purpose and we didn't know haha.

Spiritual Thought:
We had a General Authority come to our mission this week, Elder Alvarado, and wow, was a great experience. I can tell you all that he is a man called by God and we truly have a prophet who leads and guides this church called by God. I really do not know how to sum up the experience in one paragraph or even how to put it into words, but it was the most amazing experience of my life no doubt. He did a lot of crazy stuff and had us do things that were out of the ordinary but I can tell you all that I left this Zone Conference with a greater understanding of my divine identity, and my role here on earth. The mission does not end in two years, "These two years are the foundation for the rest of my life", he said something like that. I know that it is our job to share the gospel, our Father needs disciples, now more than ever. I know that as we commit our lives to Christ, we can find more joy doing that, than can be found anywhere else. I love my mission and would not trade these two years for anything.

I love you all, thanks for reading this far, this is a very scattered email, not sure if it made much sense, but I tried my best haha. Thanks to all of you that reach out, it makes my day each time. Have a great week.

Ofa Atu!
