Dumpster Diving Miracles
Welcome to the email y'all. This has been a hype two weeks! From zone conferences, to watching people get shot, to texas roadhouse, to dumpster diving miracles, things have been hype! YUH YUH YUH. Anyways, let's get into it.
First, my companion faked a knee injury so we had to go to the doctor this week. He's good though haha, I'm taking care of him. For his appointment, we got to drive into another mission so that was fun to leave Sacramento for a few hours. I came to realize how ugly and horrible Sacramento is, so much trash everywhere. It was nice to see a lot more trees and rural areas in the northern mission. I have now been able to visit two other missions while on my mission, the Santa Rosa mission as well. Hype. The Sacramento mission is the best mission though, I dont lie.
Me and my companion really wanted to grill. However, we did not have one. Anyways, the next day we found one at the dumpster outside our apartment. God is good. We took it home and cleaned it up. It's been really fun learning how to use a coal fueled grill. The first time we used it, we did not know what we were doing, so it literally took us 45 minutes to cook burgers on it. Pro tip, dont put the lid on the grill, even if there are holes in the top, it needs a lot of air haha. When we pulled them off, they were still raw so we had to throw them on the stove for a minute. W burgers btw. (by the way)<--translation for btw.
While on exchanges this week, we found a really cool family. All 7 of them wanted to be baptized and it was going so well. We left for one second to get some copies of the Book of Mormon for all of them, and when we got back, they were all so unfocused. They were shooting each other with orbeez guns and did not stop. I even got shot, it was crazy haha.We ended up leaving because it was literally ww2 in there, so we said we would come back another time when they are more locked in. Funny and crazy experience.
Anyways, this feels like a lame email, I am so exhausted right now, just got done balling up so I'm going to wrap it up. I can't believe that I only have four and half months left, but I hope to make the best with the time that I have left. I would not trade this mission for anything. There are things that I have learned here that I would have never learned, I believe missions are for the missionaries as much as they are for their friends. One of the things that I have found while on my mission is this, missionaries dont convert converts, converts convert missionaries. Watching people grow and change as they make covenants with God, has strengthened my testimony of Jesus Christ and this church. I love you all, and know and bare testimony that this is God's church restored on earth with the keys and power to help us return to our heavenly father with our families for eternity, in the name of Jesus Christ amen.
